PhD — Neuroscience × Artificial Intelligence

Closing the loop between brains & machines.

My work spans two sides of artificial intelligence — using AI to extract insight from neuroimaging data, and building AI & learning models on the principles of neuroscience.

A brief résumé in plain language.

I work at the intersection of brains and backprop — neuroimaging on one side, optimization on the other. Most days you'll catch me coaxing brain scans into tensors, watching a loss curve inch toward its minimum, or arguing with a model that refuses to converge before the next epoch. Most nights, classical fusion is playing somewhere in the background.

N.01

Medical imaging AI

Susceptibility distortion correction and registration for diffusion MRI — style transfer, optimal transport, and CUDA kernels that turn hours into seconds.

N.02

Clinical language models

BERT and Llama wrangling clinical notes into genomic phenotypes, retrieval to keep them honest, and replay tricks so they don't forget what they knew after finetunes.

N.03

Generative & optimization methods

CycleGANs, VAEs, and diffusion models conjuring synthetic medical images and optimal-transport methods that make correction faster and cleaner.

Off the clock

Food, photography, classical fusion on repeat. One day, a corgi.
